It is all about learning to focus
One of the neat things about being considered an expert on the net is that you acquire some intriguing and effective strategies, and made a host of new, like-minded friends.
It's good to rub shoulders and hang out with some of the biggest names in Internet marketing — that is where the real learning takes place.
What I now do is make sure that I share as much as I can with some of the other people I meet in my Internet travels.
Today, I'm going to share an important tip that many Internet experts had to learn the hard way.
Here it is:
To be successful online you need to focus on doing the things that will make you money; they are:
- Building your opt-in list
- Advertising your site(s)
- Working your leads
- Tracking everything (to see if it's effective)
- Seeking out joint venture partners
Notice how I didn't mention things like:
- Learning how to use autoresponders…
- Messing around with affiliate software etc…
- Fiddling with your website…
- Reading ezine after ezine…
- Surfing someone else's sites…
- Hanging out in forums…
- Organizing your email…
- Backing up your files…
- Doing competitive intelligence…
etc…
All of those things have their time and place, but if you spend the majority of your time on them, your online income will suffer.
You really must focus — I mean really focus — on one project or opportunity at a time.
Even if you are already bored with your project, you still have to see it through. You have to do whatever it takes to make it as profitable as possible BEFORE you move on to the next one.
When I was just beginning, I met a lot of successful marketers at various places… guess what…
A lot of them didn't know much more than I did about Internet marketing.
More than one of them surprised me by showing me how much they DIDN'T know
I had to ask myself, "How did they generate great incomes online, while I poked along earning pennies?"
Simple… they ACTED on the knowledge they had, and stayed focused and consistent on their projects.
They punched their time card, and they went to work.
They treated their Internet marketing businesses just like any other job, and put in the time needed, even when it was boring, and they would rather have been working on something else.
That's my challenge to you this week, I want you to ACT, to make a mental effort to spend time only on one of the 5 activities I mentioned earlier that will put money in your pocket.
